Heritage Walk

Town Centre Heritage Walk

Meet at Sowerby Bridge Town Square 

Setting off from the Town Square at 11:00. Local historian Michael Gray PhD will lead a heritage walk around central Sowerby Bridge to highlight the fabulous industrial heritage with stops to discuss important points.

The walk is mostly on the flat, but some going uphill is necessary and will take 90 minutes, completing 12.30. Do bring clothing and footwear appropriate for a town walk.

Kinaara, meaning water’s edge, weave together strands of Punjabi and Celtic folk, Indian classical elements and a side order of psychedelia into an intoxicating whole. The Leeds group feature haunting vocals, fluid electric guitar and jazz drums to create a sound which is at once hypnotically groovy yet dynamic and subtly adventurous.

Folk rock renegade Des Horsfall has had a few skirmishes with fame over the years having played stages with the likes of Steve Earle, Pete Townsend and Slim Chance. With his band Kushty Rye he carries the torch for the late Ronnie Lane creating with good friends their own brand of raucous and good natured rustic rock and roll fun.

Mora & The Fabulous Wonderfuls

Born backstage, and raised by a VOX AC30, MORA was always destined to be a performer who makes the ground shake. With her band The Fabulous Wonderfuls she brings a unique blend of righteous anger and soul-lifting songs to channel the pain and rage of this crushing existence into a communal connection. This is impassioned soul stirring folk rock at it’s best with a powerful front woman who’s a star in the making.

Richard Ormrod’s Instant World Music Orchestra

As part of the Puzzle’s ‘Summer Sunday Afternoons’ season of music, held in our large beer garden, we’re really chuffed to be able to bring you another big band extravaganza. The 20-strong orchestra play fantastic groove-led music, and will take you on a whistle-stop musical tour of the globe.

They’ll touch down in Jamaica, India, Brazil, Cuba, South Africa, Ethiopia; the Balkans, Japan, Trinidad, New York, and all points between to play the finest sounds around, and deliver them in their own inimitable way. This celebratory outfit play music that appeals to everyone, from a wide age-group, to fans of all types of music.
